WHO IS THIS FOR
SUITABLE FOR ALL AGES AND FITNESS LEVELS
Raynor Massage is suitable for all, we use a number system from 1 to 10, where 1 is like putting soap on your skin in the shower and 10 is so painful that it is hard to bear and you feel like you have to pull away. The pressure and this scale are individual. The pressure will also change depending on what type of massage I will apply and what the client is looking for. It is a very useful tool for the client to give feedback during the session and indicate what level of pressure they are looking for or feel comfortable with.
Under 16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 16 to 18s can come on their own but do need written consent. There will be a PAR-Q Medical Questionnaire before the first session, and if for some reason you are uncertain that if you can receive a massage, please ask your GP or give me a call or text.
MASSAGE FOR SORENESS
Soreness can be so much, but the rule is to communicate the reason for your soreness. Then we can see what we can do with it. Normally I would say the right type of massage will help against soreness.
ATHLETES SEEKING PEAK PERFORMANCE
For the top elite athletes that are fighting for golds in the Olympics and so on, massage is used every day. So saying that massage will help you to perform better is of course true, but you have to understand that only the right massage at the right time will help you. You won’t do a blip test before a competition, same as you should not have a deep tissue or relaxing massage before you compete, but a vigorous stretch and the right type of massage will help. The best use of massage in sport is in the recovery and rehabilitation phases. The quicker you are ready for your next training session the more and harder you can train.

Whatever sport you perform, you will benefit from massage, but I do get lots of questions from runners. And yes, together with the right training, massage will get you ready to run longer and faster. After a marathon or ultra run competition, there is nothing better.

MASSAGE FOR BACK PAIN – PROVEN TO HELP!
Here is the thing, you might feel the pain in the back, but your back might not be the problem. By following the tension bands in your body, we can detect stored tension in places you didn’t know were a problem, so by easing the tension in your feet for example your back pain might disappear. It is really not that strange. All the training I do is built from the ground and up. If your feet, the only thing that is rooted to the ground, is hurting the rest of your body might be hurting too. There are no straightforward answers to what is causing pain in a specific area, so finding the tension and healing it is an art that not many people can do right.
